OUTPATIENT DRUG REHAB IN INDIANA
If you, or a loved one, struggle with an addiction to specific substances such as heroin, alcohol, or oxycodone, or if you have completed addiction treatment in Indiana before and experienced a relapse, it is often better to seek addiction treatment at an inpatient residential treatment center. In an inpatient setting, there are increased opportunities for essential, potentially lifesaving treatment services, including medically assisted detox and assistance with withdrawal symptoms.
However, if you have recently completed an inpatient addiction treatment program and do not feel ready yet to be “on your own” or if you have a mild issue with substance abuse, outpatient treatment may be the most beneficial treatment option. If you are motivated to seek addiction treatment, however, obligations at home such as work or family hinder your ability to be away from home, outpatient rehab can offer the essential flexibility you need to ensure treatment is possible.
The Difference Between IOP & Outpatient Drug Treatment
There is a common misconception that an outpatient addiction treatment program is “less” of a treatment program than that provided in a residential setting. The truth is, inpatient and outpatient rehab programs both focus equally on addiction treatment. However, given the difference in setting end treatment delivery, they both have unique qualities and benefits. An inpatient rehab program is an intensive program that requires you to “live” at the treatment center for the duration of your treatment program. At an inpatient rehab program you will stay on-site and work with the staff at the facility to overcome your addiction while benefiting from 24-hour medical and therapeutic support. One primary benefit to inpatient treatment programs is they often have a higher success rate due to participants’ inability to access drugs or alcohol throughout their treatment process. Most residential programs last between one and six months, and unfortunately, they are also more expensive than most outpatient programs.
Outpatient rehab programs in Southern Indiana allow you to seek addiction treatment while remaining at home. Attending an outpatient rehab program is often more affordable than a residential program because the program is not required to provide you with housing, meals, or medical services. The structure of an outpatient program allows you to maintain the elements of your regular routine while attending therapy between five and seven days per week, depending on the specific program’s intensity. Many outpatient programs are structured around your individual treatment needs, including the length and type of counseling sessions, how many sessions you will attend, and how long your program will last. Most outpatient programs last longer than residential programs, with some lasting up to a year or more. Because of their less intensive structure, it may take time for you to meet your overall treatment goals. Therapy sessions in an outpatient rehab program often consist of a combination of individual and group therapy counseling. Outpatient rehab programs do have strict requirements requiring you to attend each of your sessions. Failure to do so, in some cases, can result in a referral to an inpatient program that may better suit your needs.

Our Southern Indiana Outpatient Rehab
Following through to the final step in addiction treatment is essential to ensure long-term sobriety. Like our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), our Outpatient Program (OP) encourages the freedom to resume daily life while progressing through addiction treatment.
Evolve Indy offers Outpatient Treatment both with or without Community Housing.
Should you decide to reside in community housing, you will share a sober home with other peers who participate in our treatment program. Evolve Indy offers transportation on a daily basis where to locations where clinical services are offered. Evolve also works alongside an affiliated sober living community should you choose this course of treatment. Typically, while enrolled in our Outpatient Program, clients will attend one to three group sessions per week and meet with their primary therapist as often as once per week, based on individual needs. Therapy will address coping skills, relapse prevention skills, and addiction triggers. As with PHP and IOP, group therapy sessions are available six days per week to accommodate those who are employed or have other responsibilities. Outside of treatment, clients will be encouraged to maintain involvement with a 12-step fellowship and begin to develop and pursue independence.
