Astrology history is linked to the origin of astrology and why did astrology start? The need for astrology rose as in ancient times there was no formal education and many questions were left unanswered. Man became puzzled looking at the events occurring around him be it on earth or the skies, like the change in seasons, eclipses, waxing and waning of the moon. First, celestial events were observed and recorded, and mans interest in astronomy began. Soon, man started linking the celestial phenomena with the events on earth, and formed the base for astrology. In ancient times astrology and astronomy were merged. Astrology history can be traced to the Babylonian times. Broadly speaking, from there it spread to Greece, in 4th century B.C. And then to Rome, and to India during the Hellenistic period of Indo Greek invasion.
Astrology history went through its lows where it was being questioned is astrology fact or fiction and was subjected to ridicule in ancient times. But every civilization across the globe developed its own system of astrology right from The Aztecs in Mayan civilization, Greece, Rome, Egypt, Arab, across India and to the Far East and Chinese astrology. Astrology history has come a long way and evolved into what its now called a Pseudoscience. In this modern era astrology is pursued like never before.
